I just hope that Alberta will bring in the oil and gas and do it at a reasonable price. We are already getting screwed to death by big oil, opec and the stock market traitors.

Better to pay Canada than OPEC. But from the stories about the oil sands pollution - it makes you wonder what the real price is.

Apparently the Alberta tar sands holds the worlds second largest deposit of oil next to Saudi Arabia. It's time to extract it.

No matter where they drill or extract oil, the supply WILL run out, and the sooner we focus of renewable alternatives, the better off we will become...
A gasoline tax whose funds are used for research in alternatives just might change a few people's vehicle choice... some folks may LIKE to drive a pickup, and if it really used for business, it can pay for itself, but if it is just a choice, then it should pay its share of highway maintenance and for a solution to oil dependency...

Hey jacks45: They are already doing it. Alberta sells its oil on the world market and not a penny less than OPEC. And they're laughing all the way to the bank.

I have two words for ya. OIL SHALE. The United States has more oil shale than Saudi Arabia's oil reserves. It hasn't been seriously considered until recently because it is more expensive to get out of the earth. but with oil prices the way they are it could be the golden goose. If the DEMS would get their heads out of the sand.Oil Shale To The Rescue

I agree with Zygnatx & the above is stating the obvious - tar sands has moved from uneconomical to very profitable now.

"The study concludes that the global energy industry has been unable or unwilling to respond to sharply higher and rising prices due to conservative thinking, a lack of adequate drilling resources, growing political and technical complexity in target exploration areas and skyrocketing inflation - including more ravenous governments."

Sweet crude still controls the majority of the market and still sets the price of what we pay to buy oil sands from Canada.
